Daddy's Little Rugby Fan? or Daddy's Little Whale Rider?

After less than a week of wearing the spica cast, Charlotte has developed a habit of hitting it with both of her arms. The way she hits the cast looks very similar to the first movement in a 'haka' performed by the All Blacks - the international rugby team of New Zealand.

A haka is a traditional dance of the Maori people who inhabit the country of New Zealand. The particular haka that the All Blacks perform is a war chant. It is to intimidate their opponents and also to call up strength to win the match.

I also titled the note, "Daddy's Little Whale Rider" because I love the movie Whale Rider, which is about a little girl who is the only heir in a succession of male, Maori cheifs.
